Extension magazine was established in 1906 to share the stories of how Catholic Extension Society works in solidarity to build up vibrant and transformative Catholic faith communities in America’s poorest regions.
Through captivating storytelling and photos, the magazine connects readers to Catholics in often overlooked corners of the country who are facing unique challenges and hardships with inspiring faith.
The magazine was started by Catholic Extension Society’s founder, Father Francis Clement Kelley, who wrote and edited it for years. It began as a monthly publication, with a first print run of 50,000 copies in April 1906, reaching peak circulation in the 1950s with 600,000 subscriptions. The magazine today is published 3-4 times a year and is distributed to Catholic Extension Society donors.
Please contribute at least $10 or more per year to our mission to receive the magazine.
