In rural eastern Tennessee where less than 3% of people are Catholic, it can be hard to get young people involved in ministry. When you don’t speak the same language, it can be even harder.
Since many parishes have limited resources, Spanish-speaking Catholics are sometimes overlooked. But Brittany Garcia wanted to change that. She reached out to young Hispanic Catholics across the diocese and brought them together. Now the Diocese of Knoxville has a vibrant community of young Hispanic Catholics.
