The purpose of this initiative is to help your diocese catechize and energize adult Catholics with substantive education that is delivered through small, faith-sharing communities.
Catholic Extension Society has partnered with RENEW International to bring the Why Catholic? and ARISE programs to parishes in your diocese. The agreement covers 70 percent of the cost of these programs.
The four-year Why Catholic? program provides participants with a guided tour through Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, enabling them to better understand their faith, connect it to their lives and have a new confidence to share their faith with others. The three-year ARISE program teaches participants how to live as disciples of Christ by making concrete applications of the Gospel in their daily lives.
These programs are cost-effective opportunities to build and strengthen the faith of active Catholics on a diocesan-wide scale as well as evangelize inactive and alienated Catholics. RENEW International will provide training workshops and educational resources that support a diocesan RENEW coordinator and parish program leaders.
