Bishop Mark Seitz of El Paso explains his prayerful intentions behind this provocative photo featured on our recent Extension magazine cover

Listen to Bishop Mark J. Seitz’s June 8, 2020 Relevant Radio interview.

“When you talk about the prolife issue—a movement that I’ve been involved with since I was a child.  So often [the prolife movement] has been politicized and people have hesitated to say anything much less do anything, because it has become such a hot button issue. There are so many [hot button] issues like that—religious liberty.  This [issue of racial discrimination] is on that same plane.  And, we realize that while we are not going to fully agree with the position that everyone takes, still we have to zero in on the particular reality of racial discrimination in our country, in this case, and we need to find ways that we can respond. ”

“First of all, for us people of faith, we begin with prayer.  And the wonderful thing about prayer is that it doesn’t change God, it changes us.”
