The goal of this initiative is to help mission dioceses participate in #iGiveCatholic on Giving Tuesday.

Catholic Extension Society sees the national #IGiveCatholic campaign as an opportunity for dioceses, parishes, and schools to each raise funds for specific projects or unrestricted purposes. 2024 will be the 10th Giving Tuesday and the growth in funds raised has expanded and grown each year. This initiative will require the diocese to commit to promote the program to all the parishes, schools and ministries in the diocese that want to participate and use the tools/materials provided by #iGiveCatholic in that process.

Catholic Extension Society will accept applications from any and all mission dioceses. A preference will be given to dioceses that have not previously participated but those who have participated in the past are welcomed and encouraged to submit applications. We will be supporting Extension Dioceses for the 2024 campaign.  If selected, the diocese will receive a $1,000 discounted rate from #iGiveCatholic, and $2,500 in funding from Catholic Extension Society to be used as follows: $1,500 towards the fee and an additional $1,000 for the diocese to use for promotional material or prizes.

About the #iGiveCatholic Giving Day

#iGiveCatholic is a Giving Day that kicks off the charitable season and invites the Catholic community to come together to celebrate the faith, give thanks and give back. The Giving Day is held on December 3, 2024, a global day devoted to promoting generosity and kindness, and is always the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. #iGiveCatholic celebrates our unique Catholic heritage by raising awareness of and support for participating dioceses’ charitable, educational, and spiritual ministries. In 2024, #iGiveCatholic takes place on December 3, with an Advanced Giving phase which begins November 18. 

In 2023, the ninth year of the campaign, more than $20.1 million was raised nationwide for participating parishes, schools, and nonprofit ministries representing 50 dioceses.
