Throughout the 1940s-1960s, the “Two Little Nuns” were a wildly popular feature among Extension magazine’s thousands of subscribers.
Sister Colleen and Sister Maureen, created by artist Bill O’Malley and later illustrated by Joe Lane, were so popular that several compilation books of their comic adventures were printed and sold through Catholic Extension Society in the 1950s.
