Mrs. Raye G. White
Born and raised in Texas, Raye G. White has spent most of her life making an indelible impact in the Greater Houston community and beyond. From the boardroom to her countless philanthropic endeavors, at the root of it all is her passionate concern for others and her wish to give back to the community she loves.
Mrs. White is the Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer of Fayez Sarofim & Co. She has been with the firm since its inception in 1958 and is a Chartered Investment Counsellor.
Mrs. White is a board member for The Hermann Eye Fund, a life director at the University of St. Thomas, as well as the CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare. Other philanthropic ventures include supporting the development of the Archbishop Joseph A. Fiorenza Priest Retirement Residence at St. Dominic Village, various initiatives of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, including the annual Archdiocesan Prayer Breakfast, and annual support of the San Jose Clinic and Catholic Charities.
The Spirit of Francis Award
The Catholic Extension Society Spirit of Francis Award recognizes an individual or group who has made a significant impact on the mission of the Catholic Church in America through service or philanthropy. Spirit of Francis Award recipients are laudable for their commitment “to reach out to the margins of society” in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis, and the founder of Catholic Extension, Father Francis Clement Kelley.
Proceeds from this Spirit of Francis Award Dinner will benefit rural mission Churches in Texas.
